Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce
Magento store with OpenSearch and Redis.
The most demanding CMS on this list. Magento 2 needs PHP 8.x, MySQL/MariaDB and, on top, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, which alone wants 1-2 GB of RAM. It starts on 4 GB but it's tight; 8 GB is the realistic point for a store with a mid-sized catalog. Indexing and dependency compilation punish the CPU, so shared vCPUs show. Rule out shared hosting: without control over the search service there is no working Magento.

Operational tips
- OpenSearch/Elasticsearch is mandatory from Magento 2.4: reserve 1-2 GB just for it.
- Enable Redis for sessions and cache; it cuts MySQL load a lot.
- Magento's cron must run every minute or indexing falls behind.
- Compiling dependencies needs a burst of RAM: on 4 GB, add swap for deploys.
